6 hours face-to-face
The course will introduce the definitions and main concepts of “Climate Change Adaptation Pathways”. Students will measure the benefits of the approach for the decision-makers. Under strong uncertainties, they face indeed difficult contexts and need some methodology for adaptation based on intended outcomes.
The course proposes a participatory scenario of planning and modelling and is illustrated by African and European example and study cases.
16hours in groups + presentation the last day
Projects related to Climate Change adaptation are proposed to groups of 4 students. The approach is Problem Based Learning where the groups have to understand the problem, to interact regularly with the stakeholders, to look for complementary knowledge/information/data, and to propose solution(s) with their roadmap, milestones and indicators.
Specific activities will raise the competence and skill awareness such as teamwork, project management, and communication.
Student future study/professional plans will be discuss with the facilitators
